Squire Patton Boggs partner Norman Kinel possesses more than three decades of experience as a bankruptcy attorney and handles litigation for some of the country’s largest and most intricate bankruptcy cases. Norman Kinel maintains membership in the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), which offers certification as a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP).

TCP certification distinguishes holders as professionals with the necessary experience, integrity, and knowledge to handle all aspects of corporate renewal work related to turnarounds. Their history demonstrates a proven track record in working with companies or large business units in financial crisis and holding leadership positions such as turnaround team leader or chief restructuring officer. Certification also represents a dedication to industry competence and offers a competitive edge among colleagues.

Turnaround professionals can apply for certification by submitting a CTP application, which includes a one-page qualification statement, three confidential professional reference forms, and three or more position and experience confirmation forms. The application also requires a $295 nonrefundable fee. Individuals with accepted applications must complete a certification exam consisting of approximately 100 multiple-choice questions. Certification remains valid for as long as professionals continue to abide by the TMA Code of Ethics and complete minimum continuing education credits every two years.
