Since earning his juris doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law in 1983, Norman Kinel has accumulated over 30 years of experience as a bankruptcy attorney in the Greater New York City region. After beginning his career with several prestigious bankruptcy practices, Norman Kinel was first made a partner by Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan, LLC, a firm he swas with for 14 years before pursuing other opportunities.
Adept at corporate restructuring, bankruptcy litigation, asset sales and cross-border insolvency proceedings, Norman Kinel also built a 15 lawyer corporate reorganization and bankruptcy department at a boutique New York City based firm. He is currently a partner in Squire Patton Boggs’ Reorganization and Insolvency Practice and head of the Firm’s Creditors’ Committee Practice Group.
In addition to representing debtors, creditors, equity holders, bondholders, and various types of official and unofficial committees, Norman Kinel has authored and been quoted in numerous financial and bankruptcy-related publications. An appointed member of The Bankruptcy Strategist’s board of editors, he has contributed to stories appearing in Dow Jones’ Daily Bankruptcy Review, The Wall Street Journal, and Law360.
